In Sam Shepard's play Action the characters spend their time looking for a sense of place and self that they have either lost or never knew. It takes place in the aftermath of some unnamed catastrophe. The setting is a bleak void of a house decorated solely by a meager Christmas tree. The lighting for this show was stark and static, a perfect compliment to the show. The light you see in these pictures comes mainly from a single open face fixture mounted in the audience seating riser. Everything was blasted in a low harsh front light that etched their shadows on the back wall. There were no noticeable light cues during the show.
