Welcome to Big Animals for Little Kids!
We're glad you came by for a visit! We hope that you will learn more about our program and see how you can help.

Big Animals for Little Kids is an all-volunteer organization here in San Diego. Our purpose is to bring joy into the lives of children, especially children facing health, emotional or socio-economic challenges. Wearing our Big Animals costumes, we regularly visit children in hospitals, homeless shelters and foster care facilities.

We support kids at Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Kaiser Hospital as well as organizations such as: The Make a Wish Foundation, the San Diego Center for Children, Christie’s Place and ChildHelp. Our 40-50 yearly events bring joy to approximately 4,000 children annually.

Our Teen Mentoring Program has dozens of volunteers from San Pasqual Academy who have participated actively in the program. It is especially poignant since these foster kids lives have often not involved a lot of love or trust. By donning a Big Animal costume to entertain the little ones, these teenagers are learning the awesome power of giving of oneself and enhancing their self-esteem. This is perhaps the most important educational lesson of all!
